Ally, whom I mentor, recently did a school report on the moose, which she did research about over a few months. After her report, which was part of a project named "Animals of Jackson Hole", she said she wanted to make a moose drawing for me, and I'd make her one. I told her I'd make a painting.
This was really fun, and to see how excited she was over her painting made me feel that is was a great thing to do for her. I picked her up in school yesterday to spend the afternoon together, and she was holding her painting, saying she had showed it to her class. Her teacher suggested I come at the end of the year and we could share what Ally and I had done artistically together.
Let's see what our next assignment will be. Right now, I have enrolled her in a clay workshop for 8 weeks, was there too, worked on my own project, and it was great to hang out amongst all those creative little kids.
